Maintenance Technician

 

Reports to:  Maintenance Manager

Shift:  Nights

Summary:

This is a multi-craft maintenance position which will be responsible for maintenance in a rubber extrusion facility.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Repair and maintain equipment and facilities

Complete projects as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor

Conduct routine preventive maintenance

Write preventive maintenance procedures

Comply with safety and environmental standards including zero-energy requirements

Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electronic trouble-shooting

Actively participate in Equipment/Process Improvement Teams

 

Requirements/Experience:

Job requires education in industrial maintenance (vocational or associates degree) and/or 3 to 5 years experience in the manufacturing maintenance environment.

Skills should include HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting.

Electrical and Electronics:

       - Motor starter circuits

       - Electrical service to machine centers

       - AC & DC drives installation & trouble shooting

       - PLC knowledge

       - Heating and pressure control circuits (closed loop)

       - Able to read prints, electrical drawings, and ladder diagrams

Plumbing:

        - Able to run black iron and stainless steel threaded pipe (up to 3”)

Ability to trace complicated distribution piping systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, solvents, chemicals, and steam.

Shop Tools:

Able to use Welders, torches, plasma cutter, drill presses, saws, lathes, mills, and hand tools of all types.

       - Able to drive a forklift.

HVAC certification preferred

Equipment Troubleshooting Participation:

        - Participate in establishing countermeasures for reoccurring failures

        - Collect and report maintenance data and repair information

        - Complete necessary work orders and paperwork associated with maintenance tasks

 

Must be able to work (1) overtime including weekends, (2) extreme diversified environments, (3) steam and hazardous materials, (4) manage time with PM projects and breakdowns, (5) be able to be fitted to wear a respirator and (6) keep work loads up to date.

Conversion Operator

 

Reports to:  Conversion Supervisor

Location:  Middletown, DE

 

Requirements:

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years manufacturing experience

  • Demonstrated math and computer skills.

  • Experience of using mechanical equipment, preferably converting machinery.

  • Able to lift 50 Lbs.

  • Previous experience using MRP systems

 

Duties:

  • Organize supplies for the production process.

  • Utilizes computer systems for SAP, email, Skype and label making systems.  Report consumption, production and product movements in SAP.

  • Delegate responsibilities to personnel who are operating under the operator’s direction.

  • Retrieve return products, rework and report in SAP system.

  • Organize the staging/returning/ and packaging of all products per customer request.

  • Initiate and process manufacturing order for customer specific instructions.

  • Demonstrate good communication skills as follows:

      a.  Follow written instructions with little or no supervision.

      b.  Follow verbal instructions with little or no supervision.

  • Operate converting machinery in a safe manner while meeting all environmental standards.

  • Perform quality testing and report non-conformances.

  • Report impending/ or machinery breakdowns and safety issues immediately.

  • Train, coach, and document progress while teaching team members to run equipment. 

  • Solid experience in ISO9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Mechanical aptitude in use of measuring equipment.  Such as Tensions, sheeting, guillotining, blades, braking systems, quality testing, inspections, recording results, initiate a non-conformance form, use scales, gauges, rulers, and micrometers.

  • Perform housekeeping duties, maintain environmental rules and practice clean room etiquette.

  • Prepare and load material on converting equipment.

  • Perform other assignments as required

  • Work various hours at the last minute, including overtime
